Review
Death Wish is a wonderful book. I didn't want to put it down. Scarlett was so focused on finding out what happened to her sister that there were several times where she was a tad too reckless and would have been in serious trouble if someone hadn't been there to save her. I was scared for her in the beginning of the book when she almost drowned while trying to surf. It took some guts for her to go out there and try when she didn't know what she was doing and without a proper board. It was also slightly stupid. However, she was grieving and grief will make you do stupid things so I forgave her.
I was so happy when Scarlett first became friends with Cara. Cara had so much energy and didn't let the fact that she limped get to her and that was really inspiring. I still can't decide if I like Luke or Jude better. Luckily, there are four more books to help me decide. ;)
The only thing I didn't like was that the paranormal aspect didn't really come into play until the end of the book. There were a few snippets here and there but the main paranormal stuff was way too late. If this was a standalone then I would be more disappointed, but since this is a series I will give Book 2 a chance before I pass a judgement that is too harsh. I would still highly recommend Death Wish but just know that once you start the series, you are going to want to continue!
